This post outlines the steps on how to hide the new Microsoft Office 2007 Ribbon to save screen real estate. It’s a handy feature most our mobile users employ. The steps below applies to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint 2007.
Double click on the highlighted tab will hide the Microsoft Office 2007 Ribbon:
Or you could right click on the tab and to get the display options for the Microsoft Office 2007 Ribbon:

Single click when the Ribbon is hidden will display the Ribbon and once you click on a function the Ribbon will hide itself again. Once you click on a function the Ribbon will automatically go back to it’s hidden state. It’s like Windows Taskbar with it’s auto hide feature.
Similar to the Windows Taskbar auto hide feature the menu is floating when displayed:
Double click on the menu again to restore the Ribbon to it’s display state.
